Submersed - Unconcerned

Take a step outside
The boundaries we live in
Get to know yourself
The real you, the real me
Join the hands of faith
That hold you, that know you
Let the love go free
It's in us, it's in me

Love lives in me
Love's free to be
Pain grows to burn
Lessons concerned
Unconcerned

Open the eyes of all
Who see you, who see me
Never lose sight of all
You stand for, you live for
Let go of the pain
That holds you, that binds you
Break free of it all
Around you, around me

Love lives in me
Love's free to be
Pain grows to burn
Lessons concerned

Dreams in you
Flow in me
When you come again
The time
Stands still
Inside
You feel me, yeah
Yeah

Love lives in me
Love's free to be
Pain grows to burn
Lessons concerned
Unconcerned

Yeah (4x)

This song is about being yourself. To love yourself and to love others. The first 4 lines "Take a step outside / The boundaries we live in / Get to know yourself / the real you, the real me" are about  knowing yourself and loving yourself for who you are.  The next 4 lines "Join the hands of faith / That hold you, that know you / Let the love go free / It's in us, it's in me" are about letting that love spread to others, to show others the same love that you give yourself. Then comes to chorus, which is about how love is good and free "Love lives in me / Love's free to be" , and pain only causes more pain "Pain grows to  burn" and to learn from that.  The next part of the song follows the same pattern that the first part did. "Open the eyes of all / who see you, who see me / Never lose sight of all / you stand for, you live for", it's a pretty clear message about  getting everyone to love, and to never give up on what you believe in. Then the next 4 lines, "Let go of the pain / that holds you, that binds you / break free of it all / around you, around me" are about letting go of the pain, don't get caught up in it and to break free of it all. Then we have the chorus again, but this time without the last line "Unconcerned", which I believe has the meaning that while we should be unconcerned with hate, we need to pay attention and still learn from it, so it doesn't happen again. The second to last stanza in the song  is about the writer telling us that he has "Dreams in you / flow in me" and that "When you come again / the time / stands still" which means that he has dreams of other people, and when he sees them  everyone is loving, there is no hate.  Then the chorus is sung one last time, which gives the same message, love is free, pain only causes more pain, learn from it so it doesn't happen again.

  1. Great song. I really feel like these are unfiltered lyrics. There is great emotion in this song. "Dreams in you, flow in me" sounds like a heartbroken love bird that only wants the best for his companion, whether she wants his love or not. Before we can love others, we must learn to love ourselves. To do that, one must understand your inner wants and needs. Love is free, but pain and heartbreak are the high chance outcome if your not careful. This song speaks the truth.
